A coupling system for components (3, 4) e.g. of a container, has ramps with interacting sloping surfaces which fit together when the container is closed and separate its components when one is rotated relative to the other. In a variant of the design two components can be fitted together with the aid of a hollow fastening element which is expanded with a key after insertion through holes in the components, or one hollow component can be expanded by pressure inside another.
