<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically clean an organic substance which contaminates a touch panel surface by forming the panel of glass coated with TiO2 having a photocatalyst function that oxidizes an organic substance. SOLUTION: The touch panel propagates ultrasonic surface acoustic wave transmit signals from transmitting means 1 and 2 to the entire surface of a read part 5 through reflecting pieces 3 and 4, receives them by receiving means 8 and 9 through reflecting pieces 6 and 7, and analyzes the signals along the time base to read indicated coordinates out. At this time, a soda glass substrate is coated with a film consisting principally of SiO2 as a propagation medium and its surface is coated with TiO2 . This thin film of TiO2 is irradiated with ultraviolet rays and then OH<-> is produced by optical excitation, so an organic substance sticking on the surface is decomposed into H2 O and CO2 and removed. Therefore, organic substances of sweat, a fingerprint, etc., sticking on the surface of the thin film of TiO2 can automatically be decomposed and removed.</p> |
