[Also in Division F1] In an agricultural plough each of a plurality of shares 82 is pivotally mounted on a frame 81 so that it can retract when encountering an obstruction R, the share being subsequently restored to its normal position by the piston 89 of a hydraulic ram or actuator 85 connected by a pipe or line 94 to a hydraulic accumulator furnished with a pipe nipple 62 adjacent a valve member (69), Fig. 2 (not shown), which permits the working fluid in the actuator to enter the accumulator rapidly when the share meets the obstruction and thereafter re-enter the actuator slowly to effect gradual restoration of the share to the desired operating position as determined by an adjusting screw 93. The actuator and the accumulator are charged with working fluid e.g. oil, through a non-return valve 95 and a further valve 96, which is disconnected from the source of fluid when the pressure in the accumulator reaches a pre-determined value.</p> |
