PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the number of key strokes in the case of inputting Japanese words with a Roman character input type Japanese input device. SOLUTION: Concerning a Japanese syllabary (KANA) character expressed by combining a consonant and a vowel, a user inputs the character in the form for inputting only the consonant. When inputting 'ka', for example, only the 'k' is inputted and when inputting 'ta', only the 't' is inputted. When a Roman character string corresponding to a certain KANA word is inputted in this style, a KANA word list is prepared while including all the KANA words having possibility to be expressed by the inputted Roman character string by a KANA word list preparing means 2, only the KANA word having a meaning as Japanese is selected out of KANA words included in the KANA words list by a selecting means 3, the KANA word selected by the selecting means 3 is displayed on a display device 8 by a fixing means 5 and according to an instruction from the user, the KANA word tried to input by the user is fixed. |
