PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a one-component developing device equipped with an electrode member near the upstream side in the carrying direction of developer from a position where a blade is brought into contact with a developer carrier, and capable of stabilizing the quality of a formed image over a long term. SOLUTION: This device is provided with the elastic blade 10 brought into contact with the surface of a developing roller 4 on the downstream side of a developing area in the rotating direction of the roller 4 and the grounded electrical conductive electrode 11 arranged on the upstream side of the contact part in the rotating direction of the roller 4 and at a position separated from the surface of the roller 4. Thus, an electric field is formed between a bias impressed on the roller 4 and the electrode 11 and residual toner on the roller 4 is suspended from the roller 4. Then, the suspended toner is scraped by the blade 10 without imposing stress. |
