PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for determining a trace amount of liquid accurately even if the position of a pipette in vertical direction changes. SOLUTION: A liquid determination device 1 has a pipette 11, a pipette elevation means 12 for moving the pipette 11 vertically, a syringe 14 that is connected to the pipette 11 via a flexible tube 13 and can suck or discharge a liquid from and to the pipette 11, and a control part 17 for controlling the operation of the pipette elevation means 12 and the syringe 14. Then, the control part 17 drives the syringe 14 slightly for the vertical move of the pipette 11 so that the top position of the liquid in the pipette 11 can be maintained constantly when moving the pipette 11 vertically while the inside of the syringe 14, the tube 13, and the pipette 11 is filled with a liquid. |
