<p>Device for absorbing gases from gas-air mixts. flowing by suction, esp. for absorbing NOx gases arising from the chemical polishing of Cu and its alloys in solns. contg. e.g. mixts. of HNO3, H3PO4, CH3COOH, and water; the device consists of a suction duct and at least one nozzle with a driving and reaction pipe leading to a reaction chamber contg. the reaction liq. which is circulated by a pump. The novelty is that the bottom end of the vertical or sloping pipe is immersed in the liq. so the gas-air mixt. is scrubbed as it is driven down the pipe and then re-scrubbed as its travels up through the liq. in the reaction chamber. The pipe(s) pref. have dia./length ratio 1:12). The device can be used for chemical brightening of Cu, Al or its alloys, steels and other materials, and is very effective for scrubbing without using extensive plant.</p> |
