PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a musical sound generating device which can be made extremely small in size without spoiling playing operability and create new playing effect. SOLUTION: A fret part 2 corresponding to part of a neck and a trigger part 1 corresponding to part of a body are separated as different bodies, and the fret part 2 while measuring the distance between a measurement start signal transmitted as an FM signal from the trigger part 1 and an ultrasonic wave for distance measurement according to both the signal and ultrasonic wave receives a trigger signal sent from the trigger part 1 according to trigger operation corresponding to strumming to generate a musical sound having a pitch specified according to the distance value and a fret number FN of strumming operation with sound volume corresponding to its signal level. Consequently, the device can be made extremely small in size while nearly the same playing operability with a conventional musical sound generating device which simulates a string instrument is secured. |
