PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic electroluminescent element having excellent durability and reliability by adhering a board, on which a positive electrode and an organic thin film layer and a negative electrode are laminated in order, and a shield member to each other with an adhesive member. SOLUTION: A positive electrode 2 made of ITO or the like, an organic thin film layer 3, which is formed of a hole transporting layer 4 and a light emitting layer 5, and a negative electrode 6 made of Al-Li alloy or the like are laminated in order by resistant heating deposition and ion beam spattering or the like. Furthermore, an insulating compound layer 7 made of GeO or the like is formed on the negative electrode 6 at need. At the time of adhering the board 1 and a shield member 8 to each other, both they are adhered to each other through an adhesive layer 9 made of low-melting point glass and low-melting solder or the like. With this structure, intrusion of moisture and oxygen into the negative electrode 6 and the organic thin film layer 3 is perfectly shielded, and growth of dark spot in the light emitting layer 5 can be prevented, and a change of luminance with the lapse of time can be restricted. |
