PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep the toner concentration of a developing device in an adequate state in accordance with another image forming process condition and the change of environmental condition. SOLUTION: When the value of the driving voltage of a copy lamp is made to be >= an initial value Va+α by process control processing, developing performance is judged to be too high, so that a toner concentration reference value K is corrected to K+β. Thus, the toner concentration inside the developing device is increased to reduce the electrostatically charged amount of toner, so that the developing characteristic is deteriorated. On the contrary, when the value of the driving voltage of the copy lamp is made to be <= the initial value Va-α by the process control processing, the developing performance is judged to be too low, so that the toner concentration reference value K is corrected to K-β. Thus, the toner concentration inside the developing device is decreased to raise the electrostatically charged amount of the toner, and the developing characteristic is improved. |
