PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify labor required for card reissue processing and to shorten processing time by issuing a new card succeeding to the data of an old card from the card reader/writer without executing input operation for the data of the old card. SOLUTION: This card reader/writer 4 is connected to a POS (point of sales) terminal 2 having a data processing function of a rewritable card 1 through a communication cable 3. When an old rewritable card arriving at rewriting limit is loaded to a card loading part 41, the old card is automatically ejected from the loading part 41, and when a new rewritable card is loaded instead of the ejected old card, the new rewritable card succeeding to card data to be recorded on a magnetic stripe part of the old card and display data to be displayed on a display part can be issued. Thereby it is unnecessary to manually input the card data of the old card at the time of card reissue processing. |
