PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lessen the damage that rubbing cloth receives from the right-angled shape of the corner parts of transparent electrodes patterned on a glass substrate, to ameliorate the panel display defect by the nonuniform orientation of liquid crystals and to improve a display grade by forming the shape of the corner parts of the transparent electrodes to a dull angle. SOLUTION: The transparent electrodes 9 are formed on the glass substrate 10. The transparent electrodes 9 are patterned by etching, by which the transparent electrodes 11 for display, various kinds of alignment marks 12 and the transparent electrodes 13 for grounding are formed. Various kinds of the alignment marks 12 are formed to the square shape obtd. by forming the shape of their corner parts 14 to the dull angle of 135 deg.. The shapes of the corner parts 15, 16 of the transparent electrodes 11 for display and the transparent electrodes 13 for grounding are also formed to the dull angle of 135 deg.. Polyimide oriented films are applied on the transparent electrodes 11 for display, various kinds of the alignment marks 12 and the transparent electrodes 13 for grounding and are subjected to rubbing treatments by the rubbing cloth. |
