<p>The tent, or light support structure, is designed to be aesthetically pleasing, simple and stable in construction. In the vertical projection its surface is an octagon with arched inward-curved sides. In the corner area there are alternating relative high and low points, the apex being at the centre point. The tent surfaces filling this octagonal space is assembled from four saddle-shaped or anticlastically curved individual surfaces, each bounded by two side running from a low point to the two nearest high points, and two ridge lines running to the latter from the apex. These engage each other along the ridge lines to form a cohesive surface. The octagon is pref. a regular one, with corners evenly spaced.</p> |
