The voltage control, for a dc motor with a static inverter, reduces the voltage losses occurring in the gaps in the motor supply and allows the static inverter to deliver maximum outputs volts. The motor voltage is increased by shifting the timing pulses to the point where the motor is voltage passes through zero. The supply from the static inverter is therefore used to the full and gives a higher efficiency for the whole arrangement. A summing point is supplied with a square wave voltage and a triangular wave voltage when the instantaneous value of the triangular wave voltage is greater than that of the square wave voltage. The summing point is at a positive potential, and is at a negative potential when the value is less.
|
