METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR TRANSMITTING ATM CELL THROUGH ATM LINK

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the transmission capability of asynchronous transfer mode(ATM) transmission on an ATM link by generating the original set of a series of ATM cells by using a common header part in a receiver. SOLUTION: A cell delimiter 11 is detected, and a received current header part 7 of a 1st ATM cell 9 of a set of a series of ATM cells 9 and 10 is stored. Next, the current header part 7 and a current data pot 8 are received and used as a normal ATM cell for other processing. Block delimiters 12 are separately detected. Then, the header part 7 which is previously stored and each current data part 8 of an ATM cell 10 are used as a normal ATM cell for other processing. As a result, a set of a series of ATM cells 9 and 10 is received and reproduced as a normal ATM cell.
