PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform a highly bright display with a low power consumption by improving the visual field angle dependency. SOLUTION: This liquid crystal display device 1 is constituted of a liquid crystal display element 2 having a substrate member of one side 6, a substrate member of other side 7, a liquid crystal layer 14 and sealing members 15 and phase difference plates 3a, 3b and polarizing plates 4, 5. Moreover, plural wirings and TFT elements are formed on the substrate 8 had by the substrate member of one side 6 and an insulating layer is formed so as to cover the wirings and the TFT elements. Since pixel electrodes 10 can be formed even on the wirings and the FET elements with the insulating layer, opening ratios of the pixels are enhanced.
