PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a graphic shaping device having a high processing speed by inputting a graphic having axial symmetry of a certain degree and surrounded by a curve as an input picture and shaping the graphic axially symmetrically about a symmetry axis. SOLUTION: A curve approximating means 23 approximates an input graphic to a curve, a symmetry axis candidate calculating means 21 extracts a symmetry axis and a 1st symmetry judging segment calculating means 24 calculates respective statistic values of the middle point of a generated symmetry judging segment, the distance of the symmetry axis candidate and a difference between an angle formed by the symmetry judging segment and the symmetry axis and 90 deg. and judges the symmetry of the input graphic about the symmetry axis candidate. A symmetrizing processing means 28 changes the coordinates of a group of a feature point and a representative point so that the input graphic judged as a graphic having axial symmetery by a 1st symmetry judging means becomes an axially symmetric graphic about the symmetry axis candidate. The generated graphic is stored in a graphic storing means 51 and outputted to an output means 6 as an approximate curve. |
