PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to output a clipped image of high quality by applying clipping processing having an effect similar to clipping processing applied to an image corresponding to an original image to the original image to accurately clip the original image. SOLUTION: Plural image feature parameters are extracted from a notice pixel P0 in pixels b positionally corresponding to the pixels to the edge part of a clipped image C and its peripheral pixels P1 to P4 as edge feature value candidates. The pixels P1 to P4 around the notice pixel P0 of the pixels B are divided into the inside and outside of the clipped image C and the values of plural image feature parameters are calculated. The largest conversion value on the inside and outside of the image C out of these plural image feature parameter values are found out as an edge feature value. Then clipping processing is applied to picture data A by using the edge feature value. In this case, it is preferable to set up the resolution of image data B lower than that of the image data A. |
