PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the displaying section of an auxiliary display device provided separately from a main display device which displays road maps and the present location of its own vehicle display the running speed of the vehicle with high follow-up ability. SOLUTION: An on-vehicle navigator is provided with a navigation ECU 15 which input signals from a vehicle speed sensor 3 which outputs a pulse signal whenever its own vehicle runs a prescribed distance and, at the same time, makes a display device 11 display the detected location of the vehicle together with a road map and a HUD(head-up display unit) 13 which displays guidance information transmitted from the ECU 15 through a communication line 23. The pulse signal of the sensor 3 is inputted to the HUD 13 through a signal line 25 and, at the same time, the arithmetic data (the running distance of the vehicle per one pulse) for finding the velocity of the vehicle from the pulse signal is computed on the ECU 15 side and transmitted to the HUD 13. The HUD 13 stores the received arithmetic data, computes the speed of the vehicle from the stored value and pulse signal of the sehsor 3, and displays the computed speed on its own displaying section. |
