<p>Engine has a rigid annular housing in which combustion chambers and cooling chambers are contained star shaped. The combustion chambers are open on both side faces and the cooling chambers are closed to all sides. The inlet disc and the impeller wheel are splined to the drive shaft which passes through the housing. The gas exchange is regulated by wedge shaped slots in the inlet disc and by slots formed as blade shaped jets in the impeller wheel. The propellant gas is pre-compressed in the ante chamber to flow through the intake regulator slots to the combustion chamber. The mixture is further compressed by the rotating inlet disc and ignited by a conventional method. The expanding gases escape to the final chamber, via the blade shaped jets in the impeller wheel, radially to the drive shaft. The process repeats itself continuously.</p> |
