The collector ring mechanism has several stator brushes (13a-13e) which are opposed to the collector rings (10a-10e). A magnetic fluid is located between the stator brushes and the slip rings, such that there is a mutual electrical connection by the fluid. Each outer brush has an upper and a lower magnetic retention mechanism (16,17) which holds the magnetic fluid in place between the upper and lower part of each collector ring. The magnetic retention mechanism slides into position with respect to the magnetic fluid.
