The synchromesh transmission comprises a gear lever (1) with a resilient universal joint (5). The universal joint forms a buffer for the operating forces occurring during engaging and disengaging of the clutch sleeve (4). The universal joint has a spring clip (7) whose middle section encloses a joint axle (2) of the universal joint. The free ends of the clip are supported on the gear lever.
