Folding top for motor vehicle, especially off-road vehicle

The top is built from a folding top linkage as well as a foldable top cover. The top is diverted between a wind screen frame and a rear end region in the closed position, whereby it extends in the driving direction (D) behind a web of a support structure enclosing the passenger space. The folding top linkage (15) of the vehicle comprises a front frame (17), a centre support hoop (18) and rear corner hoop (19). These three elements are separated from each other and kinematically uncoupled are mounted to rotate on opposite-lying inclined crossbars which extend above the horizontal centre line (12) of the vehicle and are connected to the upright sides (8) of the support structure (5). The crossbars may be integrated into the support structure for the passenger interior (10).
