Facsimile document sub-addressing method

The method involves entering and storing at least a sub-address character string after operation of a special key (6). After operation of the start key (16) and set-up of a connection to a distant end with switching functions, a sub-address character string and the facsimile document are transmitted to the distal end in place of an additional identifier. The sub-address character string and facsimile document are received and store in the distal end. The character string is stored in the storage area provided for the additional identifier. The existence of the character string in the storage area for the identifier is checked and when a character string exists the facsimile document is sent to the destination apparatus defined by the sub-address.
