This invention concerns a device (1) for carrying out research on cell specimens which has a microtiter plate or similar receptacle device with a plurality of individual containers for the cell specimens. In addition, a measuring device is provided to capture changes in the individual specimens. The underside of the microtiter plate or similar receptacle device has a measurement structure with at least one sensor associated with each receptacle. The measurement structure can be combined with a bottomless upper part of a standard microtiter plate, or a semiconductor substrate plate (2) is provided with a plurality of bowl-shaped recesses (3) as containers.
