Bush forming bearing between shaft and surrounding workpiece

A shaft (10) passes through a hole (4) in a workpiece (2) from which it is separated by a bush (6) acting as a bearing. Prior to fitting, the bush wall-thickness is less than the width of the gap between the workpiece and shaft. After assembly and fitting alignment of the shaft, bush and workpiece, the shaft is positioned on a cup-shaped driver (16) whose upper face rests against the lower bush face. A bush-shaped driver (12) is placed over the shaft, and the two drivers are pushed towards each other.
