Authorised user control method for telecommunications device

The control method uses a programmable control device (60) with a chip card system (80,90) which includes a card reading unit. There is also a detector (30) with a biometric sensor (32), for scanning the finger tip of the authorised user. A reference identification provided by the chip card is compared with digital user identification information provided by the detector, for verifying the identity of the user before the telecommunications device can be used. The biometric sensor may use infrared gathering of information for body parts imaging.
