<p>The operation control of the image pickup device (310) is performed by the image pickup controller (320), according to the trigger signal TRIG obtained by detecting an object (302) to be inspected, with an object sensor (303), so as to pick up the image of the object (302) to be inspected, transferred on a transfer path (301), with the image pickup device (310). The image pickup controller (320) is equipped with a variable pulse width setter (307) which generates a modulated trigger signal MTRIG where pulse width can be set variably based on the trigger signal TRIG, a synchronizing signal generator (323) which generates a standard vertical synchronizing signal VD and a standard horizontal synchronizing signal HD conforming to a standard television system, a sub-synchronizing signal generator (324) which generates a sub-vertical synchronizing signal EXT-VD to give the second timing based on the first timing being the timing of the leading edge of the above modulated trigger signal MTRIG, and a high-speed horizontal synchronizing signal generator (325) which generates over a first period a high-speed horizontal synchronizing signal Hi-HD higher in frequency than the above standard horizontal synchronizing signal HD.</p> |
