Heating element consists of a metal sheet and an electrochemical couple comprising a positive electrode, or negative electrode, and an electrolyte consisting of >=1 solvent and one solute. The couple heats the metallic sheet when it gives out electrical energy. Specifically, the metal of the sheet constitutes the cathode of the couple. The anode consists of an electron conductor, is porous and is arranged such that one part of the electron conductor is attached to this metal to short circuit the cell internally during addition of starting-up liquid which subsequently forms the electrolyte, and during discharge of the couple.
|
