An electro-dynamic acoustic transducer has a pleated diaphragm (10) in which an accordion-like alternating movement of the adjacent pleats is perpendicular to the acoustic axis of the transducer. Formed metal combs (26) having teeth (28) in the spaces between at least some of the folds provide a precise corrugation and a reliable mechanical attachment between the diaphragm (10) and the frame (42), with providing better thermal transfer from the diaphragm to the frame.
