Disclosed is a method of producing a mixed mass comprising a basic mix from a container (1), to which colour or flavour additives are added from a dosing unit (6) for a feeder pipe (3) before said feeder pipe conducts the mixed mass into a processing unit (4), preferably an ice-cream freezer. In order to obtain a correct dosing of additives, even if they are added in very small amounts, the pressure in the mixed mass is measured by means of a pressure gauge (11) immediately before or inside the processing unit (4). The additives are dosed by means of a dosing pump (22) via a branch line (9), which contains a flow gauge for registration of the correct amount of additives. In order for the flow gauge to measure precisely, a pulsation damper (23) is inserted in the branch line (9). The pulsation damper provides a varied pressure depending on the pressure measured in the mixed mass by means of the pressure gauge (11). In this manner a constant relationship between the pressure in the mixed mass and the pressure in the branch line (9) is obtained in order to obtain thereby a correct dosing.
