<p>Disclosed is a material separator to separate non-magnetic particulate material into different components having differing electrical conductivities. The separator employs a drum (20) rotatably journaled in a support frame (36). A magnetic assembly (60) is disposed within the drum and is comprised of a plurality of longitudinally extending magnetic arrays (61-63) each rotatably journaled on an array axis radially spaced from the axis of the drum (20). A drive system (100) is provided to rotate each of the magnetic arrays (61-63) about its respective array axis to induce an oscillating magnetic field and to rotate the drum (20) about the axis of the drum (20).</p> |
