The invention relates to UV-cured optical elements, a process for the manufacture of such optical elements, and the use of UV-curable compositions in the preparation of UV-cured optical elements. The UV-cured optical element comprises the reaction product of a polyalkylene glycol di(meth)acrylate and a benzyl (meth)acrylate or derivatives thereof. Preferably, the optical element is an ophthalmic lens.
