A semiconductor device (1) having a digital circuit section (2) and an analog circuit section (3) provided on a semiconductor substrate. A pattern area (4) is provided between the digital and analog circuit sections, to separate the circuit sections from each other by a preset distance. The pattern area includes a plurality of patterns used in fabrication of the device, and is electrically isolated from the digital and analog circuit sections.
