The scrap to be cut is poured through a top opening (4) into the shears. A cylinder segment (10) can be pivoted about an axis (13) by hydraulic piston/cylinder drives (10a, 10b) and at the same time forms a carrier for movable blades (26, 27). The scrap is reduced in size at cutting edges (24, 25) of the movable blades (26, 27) and at cutting edges (22, 23) of fixed shearing blades (20, 21) and is conveyed to the outside via chutes (28, 29) in the course of the pivoting movement of the cylinder segment (10). By means of troughs (17, 18) formed on the cylinder segment (10) and defined by webs (14, 15, 16), the poured-in scrap between the cutting edges lying apart in each case is prevented from being cut around and from falling out. <IMAGE> |
