In a multifunction image processing apparatus, a CPU (100) uses a QNT/PM (108), as used for copying and editing, to store image data received by a facsimile controller (109) during a time zone when the apparatus is not used for other than facsimile reception, as in the night. In initiating an operation other than facsimile reception, such as copying, the CPU (100) allows the image data retained in the QNT/PM (108) to be printed out by a laser printer (3).
