PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a compsn. which has a high mechanical strength, has an improved melt tension without detriment to impact strength, and is excellent in clarity by compounding a specific ethylene copolymer with a specific high- pressure free-radical-process low-density polyethylene. SOLUTION: This compsn., used for films, blow molded containers, etc., comprises an ethylene copolymer and at least 50wt.% high-pressure free-radical- process low-density polyethylene. The ethylene copolymer is obtd. from ethylene and at least one monomer selected from among a 3-20Cα-olefin, a diene compd., and a cycloolefin and has a ratio of Mw/Mn by GPC of 1.5-4.0, an Mw of 3,000-1,000,000, and a density of 0.85-0.95, and the relation between the half-value half-width [W/2] of a curve obtd. by the Gaussian distribution approximation of the main peak of a compsn. distribution curve obtd. by the temp.-rise fractionation method and the average number of short chain branches n (/1,000C) of the polymer satisfies the formula. The low-density polyethylene has a melt index (at 190 deg.C under a load of 2.16kg) of 0.1-100 and a density of 0.910-0.940.
