PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a W/O-type emulsion ink having improved dryability and temperature suitability, high printing density and little problems of ink blotting, etc., by including a water-insoluble colorant in the water phase and a UV- curable resin in the oil phase, thereby facilitating the dispersion of pigment particles. SOLUTION: This W/O-type emulsion ink composed of an oil phase and a water phase contains a water-insoluble colorant (preferably a colorant having high affinity to water such as carbon black) in the water phase and a UV- curable resin in the oil phase. The average particle diameter of the water- insoluble colorant is preferably <=1μm and the amount of the colorant is preferably 1-30wt.% based on the total amount of the ink. The oil phase can be produced by using a monomer and/or oligomer of a UV-curable resin as a base material and adding a photo-polymerization initiator and an emulsifier to the material. The UV-curable resin is e.g. a polyol acrylate and the emulsifier is preferably a nonionic surfactant.
|
