<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent leaking of chlorine to the outside from an electrolytic device so as to make the whole amt. of chlorine to react, and to safely and efficiently produce high concn. hydpochlorite by attaching a hypochlorite reaction tank to a cation exchange membrane type electrolytic device for saltwater to make one body. SOLUTION: A hypochlorite reaction cell 10 is assembled with an ion exchange membrane electrolytic cell 2 having a cation exchange membrane 1 so that the cell 10 is attached to a cathode room 3 or an anode room 5. Water 8 and saltwater 7 are supplied to the cathode room 3 and the anode room 5 of the electrolytic cell 2 and electrolyzed on the cathode 4 and the anode 6, respectively. The NaOH produced on the cathode 4 and the CI gas produced on the anode 6 are introduced by an introducing means 9 for the product in the cathode room and an introducing means 11 for the product in the anode room, respectively, into the hypochlorite reaction cell 10 without leaking outside and then made to react. Thus, harmful gaseous chlorine is not leaked outside but can be made to react safely with NaOH. Thus, hypochlorite (NaClO) can be efficiently produced and discharged as a hypochlorite soln. of high concn. from a circulation tank 14.</p> |
