PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject medicinal preparation which contains evodiamene, one component in gosyuyuto, as an active ingredient, and can effectively treat autoimmune diseases such as type I diabetes or rheumatoid arthritis. SOLUTION: This medicinal preparation contains an evodiamine derivative represented by formula I (R is a 1-3C alkyl), preferably evodiamine of formula II as an active ingredient. This preparation inhibits the synthesis of proteins in the heat-shock protein group with a molecular weight of 57-68 kilodalton (abbreviated to protein in HSP family). The evodiamine is preferably extracted from gosyuyuto. This preparation can contain the evodiamine derivative in an amount of 0.01-99wt.%, preferably 0.1-80wt.%. Thus, this perparation can be expected to prevent and treat autommune diseases in which a protein belonging to the HSP family participates to its crisis in cells. |
