PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of contamination at the head portion in a simple consititution by allowing an air stream to flow into the head via a taper tube when the jet head which does a scanning recording returns. CONSTITUTION:Recording scanning is done by the ink jet from ink head 2 which shifts together with carriage in the orthogonal direction to the shifting direction of recording paper. The head 2 is provided with taper tube 5 whose opeing end faces in the predetermined direction such that the nozzle of the head 2 is cleaned by the air stream which flows into the taper tube 5 when the head 2 returns after the recording scanning of the head 2. Accordingly, the occurrence of contamination by the ink at the head on account of clogging of the nozzle, etc. can be prevented in a simple costitution. |
