PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To protect fine silica particles and cause them to maintain their luminescent action to use them as a film by sealing porous luminescent fine silica particles having a three-dimensional web-like structure with a curable silicone. SOLUTION: A porous material having a three-dimensional web-like structure of aggregated fine silica particles having a diameter of 5-50nm, a BET specific surface area of 300-460m<2> /g, and a luminescence spectrum peak at 380-540nm is sealed with a curable silicone to give the objective phosphor. The curable silicone is prepd. e.g. by mixing a linear organopolysiloxane component having at least two Si-bonded 2-8C or OH-contg. olefinic hydrocarbon groups per molecule, a linear organopolysiloxane component having at least two Si-bonded hydrogen atoms per molecule, a platinum-contg. catalyst in an amt. enough to accelerate the reaction between the Si-bonded olefinic hydrocarbon or OH group with the Si-bonded hydrogen atom, and if necessary a hydrocarbon oxyalkylmaleate. |
