<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the number of part items of mechanism for detecting the quantity and presence of paper. SOLUTION: In case of a small quantity of paper P, the position fluctuation of a member 30 is not restrained by a member 40 rotated in the direction of an arrow mark C following a roller 21 installed at a stacking plate 20, so that an optical path 16A of light detected by a sensor is not intercepted by the member 30 at the time of not feeding paper but intercepted only at the time of feeding paper. In case of a large quantity of paper, the position fluctuation of the member 30 is restrained by a protruding part 41 of the member 40, the optical path 16A is not intercepted by the member 30 in either case of feeding or not feeding paper. The light detected result of the sensor is therefore changed by the quantity and presence of paper, so that both the quantity and presence of paper can be detected by one sensor.</p> |
