PURPOSE:To prevent a fusion loss of the refractories of a blast furnace by introducing blast furnace gas from the outside into the lower part of the furnace shaft and the belly portion to cool the hot inner wall by means of the cooling action of the gas itself and the endothermic reaction of CO2 in the gas and coke. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of water cooling type cooling disc 4 are inserted into lining fire brick 3 of a blast furnace at the high temp. parts such as the lower part of the shaft, the belly, etc. through shell 1 and packing 2. Blast furnace gas introduction pipe 5 is put in each disc 4, and blowing outlet 7 of pipe 5 is opened to the inside of brick 3. While cooling disc 4 with water, low temp. blast furnace gas passed through a dust collector, Venturi scrubber, etc. is blown from pipe 5. Thus, the inner wall of the furnace is cooled by the cooling action of the gas itself and the CO-forming endothermic reaction of CO2 in the gas and coke. At the same time, the formation of CO strengthens the reducing power of blast furnace gas. |
