PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dissolve problems associated with TOTYUU (bark of Euonymus tricocarpus) tea that the color of the tea is always brown, green-colored one like Japanese tea is not obtainable, and the tea has an astringent taste and grassy medicine- like smell. SOLUTION: A method for preparing TOTYUU tea comprises the following processes: the first cutting process for cutting tea leaves of TOTYUU; a steaming process for steaming the cut TOTYUU leaves; a cooling process for cooling the steamed tea leaves of TOTYUU; a coarse rubbing process in which the cooled TOTYUU tea leaves are rubbed and dried; a rubbing process in which the tea leaves of TOTYUU are strongly rubbed by applying strength so that the water in the tea leaves are allowed to come out on the surfaces; a middle rubbing process in which the tea leaves are further rubbered and dried; the first drying process for drying the tea leaves; the second cutting process for cutting the dried TOTYUU tea leaves; the second drying process for drying the water appeared on the surface of the tea leaves of TOTYUU during the second cutting process; a firing process for drying the water inside the tea leaves of TOTYUU; and a finishing process in which the tea leaves of TOTYUU are pulverized into powder or cut into pieces about 1-3mm long. |
