MANUFACTURE OF FIBER-REINFORCED THERMOPLASTIC RESIN LIGHT-WEIGHT MOLDING AND THE LIGHT-WEIGHT MOLDING

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a molding having excellent surface characteristics, strength, rigidity and a light weight without necessity of using a large quantity of foaming agent and a light-weight molding. SOLUTION: The fiber-reinforced thermoplastic resin light-weight molding is manufactured by using fiber-containing thermoplastic resin pellet (A) having a length of fiber in pellet of 2 to 100mm or a mixture of the pellet (A) and thermoplastic resin as molding material, melt kneading the material containing 5 to 80wt.% of fiber or the mixture containing 0.01-5 pts.wt. of foaming agent in 100 pts.wt. of the material, injecting the molten resin in a mold closed so that its volume becomes smaller than a mold volume equal to a final molding, and opening the mold to the volume of final molding before or after completion of injection of the resin.
