PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure necessary play for a steering wheel even in case of providing a hydraulic power steering. SOLUTION: A map M1 is provided to obtain a target steering wheel angleθg for correcting a steering wheel angleθ(actual position of a steering wheel), detected from a steering wheel relative angle by a potentiometer to which the rotation of the steering wheel (knob) is inputted, into a normal position on the basis of the steering wheel relative angle from a tire steering angle (t) detected by a potentiometer to which the rotation of a king pin of a dirigible road wheel is inputted. A control target line L set to the map M1 is so set that a moving locus in the relation between the actual position of the steering handle (knob) and the tire steering angle (t) forms such a hysteresis loop H1 as to lead to idling of a play part at the time of reverse operation of the handle (knob) in a rectilinear range (-R<=t<=R) allowable to the steered angle of the dirigible road wheel during rectilinear travel.
