OUTER MOLDING FOR AUTOMOBILE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent dust on the joint of an outer molding mounted on a body panel or a door panel to be put in press contact with a vertically movable automobile door glass for smooth opening/closing. SOLUTION: An outer mainbody 1 formed of a soft synthetic resin in the longitudinal direction has a vertical supporting strip 2 provided with one or more glass press-contact portion 3. For the glass press-contact portion 3, a brush portion 6 is implanted in part of the contact face in the longitudinal direction. In the vicinity of the brush portion 6 in the longitudinal direction, a thin protective film 7 with the coarse surface is applied to the surface of a synthetic resin, for which a polyolefin resin with low viscosity and high fluidity is used as base material to mix polyolefin based resin powder or particles therewith. The thin protective films 7 are also applied all over the surface of the glass press-contact portion 3 and the brush portions 6 are implanted at preset spaces in parts of the surfaces of the thin protective films 7 in the longitudinal direction.
