The dental illumination apparatus uses an electric lamp as the light source, and incorporates a flexible fibre-bundle-type light conductor, onto whose inlet end the rays from the lamp are focused. The lamp is of the tungsten-halogen type with cold light reflector and a rating of more than (5 watts, while the diameter of the conductor (16) is at least 4 and preferably 5 mm. The outlet end (16a) of the conductor has a hand-piece (30) with a grip (36) turning on the conductor, and a conductor bar (50) directing the light to the desired point.
