The tractor drawn root crop harvesting machine has a frame with ground wheels. This frame carries a leaf cutting and harvesting arrangement. The load distribution on the frame ensures stable travel on road and working in the field. The leaf cutter (4) is arranged on the machine in the front at the level of the harvester. This cutter can be moved backwards and fastened in a given end position. The machine centre of gravity is situated between these two end positions of the cutter. In the working position the mounted load position is raised and in transport position the configuration is lowered.
